I remember growing up in Kaneohe, everyone had a clothes line in the backyard.  There are lots of advantages to hanging laundry:

1. It makes economic sense, it save energy by not using your electric gas dryer
2. Clothes smell better
3. Clothes last longer
4. The sun’s ultraviolet rays kills bacteria

Read the article to find more advantages. Unfortunately, newer homes and townhomes in the Hawaii Real Estate market don’t allow for clothes lines, so some people have been creative. Send us some of your creative ideas if you live in a townhome, condo or home that don’t allow clothes lines.
